2nd birthday continued

Peyton had a great day today. She woke up to mommy and daddy singing happy birthday to her, had her favorite breakfast of pancakes and bananas, at school we had a party and she got to have "cakecups" with her friends, then she and mommy went to the park and played before meeting some friends at the mexican restaurant for dinner. Athens' Christmas Parade

The rain came and went just in time for the annual Christmas Parade. We had our float in it but we opted to not ride this year and watch the parade instead. We met up with a bunch of friends including Peyton's boyfriend Owen. There were marching bands, an elementary step group, a live rock and roll band (on our float), dogs, candy, and of course Santa. We had a great time!

We went to Dawsonville today to see Santa with Lily and it was so much fun. Peyton was so excited, she played peek-a-boo with Santa before we even got in line. Here are some pictures!

Hotel Hallway

We were in Statesboro last weekend and stayed at a new hotel. Peyton and Ian enjoyed running down the hallway.

Peyton's new friend Lizzie

Our friends Ally and Stephen had their sweet baby girl a few weeks ago and Peyton got to meet her for the first time last night. She was excited to see the "beeby". This picture looks sweet and innocent but this is right before an earthquake shook Lizzie's world. I think that Peyton wanted her to wake up and play because she took a hold of the sides of that bouncy seat and shook it. Lizzie didn't budge but we did quickly move Peyton away from the "beeby". From that point on she admired her from afar.

Homecoming

This weekend was UGA's Homecoming and at Peyton's school they dress up for such occassions!

End of Summer

We have had a very busy summer overall. Peyton has grown so much and changed tremendously. She is very independent and loves to climb up on anything and everything. She is talking non-stop, of course, we can only understand some words but she really has a lot to say. She entertains us constantly, singing, dancing, talking, playing with Oliver, playing with her toys, etc.

She figured out that she can get behind the blinds and thinks it is really funny!

Summer Fun

I know it has been a long time since we have posted pictures of Miss Peyton Louise so now I am going overload you with a lot of shots from the summer, including her birthday, playing with friends, bath time, dress up, etc.

Yeah, Birthday cake! It was so good and she was so much fun to watch. She looked at it for a while and dipped one finger and then it was two hands and finally she figured out that she could put her whole face in it. First birthdays are so much fun!

Peyton's first raspberry

Since Peyton started walking she is almost always on the go, this morning was no exception. She likes to walk to the car in the morning when we leave for school, this morning she walked a little further then normal and got going a little too fast on the small incline and fell on her face. Laid Back!

My brother was able to get a hold of a couple of my things from when I was a baby and this rocking chair was one of them. Peyton has figured out how to climb in and turn around and rock and she loves it. I tried to get some video but she stops rocking when I turn it on so these stills will have to do. The last one is really cute!

Hospital Fun

Peyton had a really high fever Friday afternoon so her pediatrician sent us to the hospital to run some tests. They checked her blood count and it was a little high but they went ahead and sent us home. Then Saturday afternoon her temperature spiked again so back to the hospital we went and this time we were there for the long haul. We are finally home and she is doing much better. No fever in almost 48 hours now!!! Here are some pictures we took of our little patient.

Easter Pictures

Again, we had a great day. We played with our Easter baskets and had breakfast. Then we all took a nap. After nap time we went to lunch and then went to see the cows and horses. Peyton didn't care much for the cows but really enjoyed the horses. Then we came home for an easter egg hunt. She wasn't much for hunting, as soon as she got an egg she would shake it till it came open and then try to play with the change that we put inside. Here are some pictures!

You Decide

So a friend of mine, Melinda, recently started her own blog about her boyfriend, Nick's, t-shirt company, Satisfactory Printing, and some new things they are doing together. Another friend, of ours, Jessica, wasn't checking her blog often enough but checking mine every day because there are always cute pictures of Peyton. Melinda got upset and posted about it and here is a small quote from that blog: "I routinely post pictures of Nick on here, who could possibly be the cutest person of all time. No offense, Anita, your baby is cute, but I'm taking Nick on this one." Now you decide who is cuter! (Please understand that I think Nick is a nice looking guy but you can't compare any guy to the cuteness of a baby!)

Bath Time

Crawling!

For a couple of weeks now Peyton has been going in reverse and getting really frustrated. But Sunday she started moving forward. She is still slow but we are sure that by the end of the week she will be all over the house!

First print advertisement

Peyton will make her modeling debut in the Flagpole next week. Black Forest is one of my clients and the owner, Sandy, wanted Peyton to be in her Valentine's ads. So Troy and I did a photo shoot at home a few weeks ago and we let Peyton taste a few sugar cookies for the first time in her life. She gnawed on them as we took the pictures, but fortunately could not bite through them because we left them out overnight. She really loved the taste of those cookies so be sure to buy your sweetie some sweets from Black Forest this Valentine's Day AND, if you are in town, be on the look out for the ad!

Sleeping

Peyton has these four dolls in her bed at all times. They begin lined up behind her against the back of the crib. She goes to bed awake and grabs each doll and plays with it and then lays it down and moves on to the next until she finally tires and falls asleep. Sometimes we have to go in and move a baby or two off her face after she falls asleep. I wish I could get a video for you but there really is no way to do it. We lay in our bed and watch her on the video monitor. Anyhow here is the end product at nap time a couple of weekends ago.

Peyton celebrated her first Halloween yesterday. She wore her costume to school, they had a parade for the big kids but not the babies. After school we went over to the Montgomery's for pizza and pictures. She really enjoyed her first Halloween and is already trying to decide what she should be next year!!

Sleepover

Aunt Evie and Lily spent a couple of nights with us this week and Lily and Peyton had a great time together. Lily slept on a pallet in Peyton's room. Peyton helped wake Lily up in the morning and they took a bath together. This was Peyton's first "big" bath and she did a great job!

Rock star starts school early!

Daddy brought Peyton to school today. She wore her sunglasses and looked like a little rock star! The kids and teachers at Trinity all commented on her outfit and glasses upon her arrival this morning. Daddy let them all catch a glimpse and then whisked her off to band practice (I mean her classroom). He's already started grooming her for rock stardom.

Aunt Evie got this hat for Peyton before she was even born because she thought it looked like daddy's hat. It is still a little big but we played dress up the other night. She looks so cute but boy is daddy goofy looking!

First Day of School

Peyton started "school" this week. So far so good! She's adjusting very well and is generally a happy baby according to the teachers at Trinity.

4 months old

Peyton is 4 months old! We went for her check-up this morning and she weighed in at 15lbs 10oz (90th percentile) and she is 26 1/2 inches long (97th percentile)!!!

Labor Day Weekend

Peyton had a busy Labor Day weekend. We started out at the lake with Grammy and Poppy and then finished at Aunt Evie's house for a cookout and a little dress up. Here are some cute pics from our weekend.

Peyton gets the hiccups at least 3 times a day but thankfully they don't bother her. This particular night she had the hiccups while she was sitting on the couch watching wife swap.

Music Television

Peyton loves to watch tv but music tv is especially soothing when she is upset. Watch how she doesn't take her eyes off the tv. This is an old video at this point because I have been having a hard time loading. Enjoy!
